SRTC Scholarship

Each year the Sandwich Republican Town Committee awards a college scholarship to a graduating Sandwich high-school student.

The Sandwich Republican Town Committee is proud to offer an annual $1,000 scholarship to help a young Sandwich resident with college expenses as they pursue their educational goals. Applicants must be Sandwich residents graduating from high school — they may graduate from Sandwich High School or from any private, parochial, or charter school.

Applicants are asked to submit grade transcripts, a record of work and community involvement, proof of voter registration, and an essay. We built the voter-registration requirement into the application for a reason — we never miss a chance to encourage young people to take part in their government.

How to Apply

Application details and the current year’s deadline are announced each spring. To request an application or ask about this year’s scholarship, email info@sandwichrtc.com or write to the committee at Post Office Box 1998, Sandwich, MA 02563.

Past Recipients

Over the years the committee has recognized outstanding Sandwich students — young people distinguished by their grades, their volunteer work, and their commitment to their community. Recipients have included:

  • Emily Walker of East Sandwich, a Sandwich High School graduate and community volunteer who went on to Boston University to study International Business.
  • Daphne Vantine of East Sandwich, a Cape & Islands Basketball All-Star and Cape Cod Academy graduate who went on to the University of Delaware to study physical therapy and rehabilitation technology.
  • Ian Kirkwood of Sandwich, a Sacred Heart High School graduate, volunteer tutor, and mission-trip volunteer — whose winning essay on the Constitution’s “necessary and proper” clause topped the field — who went on to the College of William & Mary.

Are you a past recipient, or do you have news to share? We’d love to hear from you — get in touch.
